Obituary of Michael L. DiGeronimo

Michael L. DiGeronimo Sr., age 92 of Readington Twp., died Monday, November 24, 2008.Born in St. Elizabeth a Pianisi, Italy on June 5, 1916, he was the son of Salvatore and Giuseppino DiGeronimo. Michael lived in Readington Twp. since 1959 and had formerly lived in Newark, NJ.He was the owner of Red Cross Chemical Co. in Newark and a farmer raising many animals including registered quarter horses, cattle and homing pigeons. Michael served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Private. He was also an avid bicyclist, who won 2nd place in 1948 in a New Jersey 125 Mile Road Bicycle Race sanctioned by the U.S. Olympics Michael was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Jennie (Saladino) DiGeronimo, and his son, Robert DiGeronimo.Michael is survived by his sons, Michael DiGeronimo Jr and his wife Beverly and John DiGeronimo, and his grandchildren, Joseph DiGeronimo, Christina and her husband, Sameet Master and Nicole DiGeronimo Visitation will be from 9:30 - 11:30 AM on Friday, November 28, 2008 at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse. A brief service will be held at 11:00 AM.
