Obituary of Helen Kennedy

Helen Kennedy of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Kolanko. Formerly of Clark Township and Linden, NJ, she moved to Whitehouse Station 40 years ago.Helen was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Cranford, NJ before becoming a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station.Helen enjoyed gardening as well as baking and cooking. She loved browsing through cookbooks and enhancing recipes to her liking.She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Kennedy, her daughter, Suzette Kennedy of Branchburg, NJ, her son, John S. Kennedy of Waiteville, West Virginia, three grandchildren, John Van Kennedy, Jessica Kennedy and Valerie O'Connor and two great-grandchildren, Makayla OConnor and Cadence O'Connor.A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at St. Michael's Church, 40 Alden Street, Cranford, NJ.Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.Burial will be at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association Memorials Program, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.For more information or to send condolences please visit www.kearnsfuneralhome.com .
