Obituary of Barbara Haeusel

Barbara Haeusel passed peacefully away early on the morning of March 24th at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was 87 years old and was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Russell Francis who died in the Normandy Invasion during WWII and by her husband Fredrick Charles Haeusel who served with Francis and then returned from WWII and met and married Barbara. She leaves behind four children and their spouses, Russell Francis and his wife Carole of Somerset NJ; Lois Gately and her husband Robert of Bethlehem, PA; Lorraine Petzinger and her husband Charlie of Whitehouse Station, NJ; and Fred Haeusel and his wife Katherine of Doylestown, PA; as well as her brothers Joe Smerdon, Emory Smerdon and Ken Smerdon. Barbara will also be missed by her seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Barbara had a full life as a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years, and was one of the founding members of the Flemington Assembly of God church in Flemington, N.J. She loved sewing for friends, was a seamstress in Whitehouse Station for almost 50 years, and was a member and Past President of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 27 at 10:00 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday, March 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Park, Wrightstown, NJ.
