Obituary of John Frain
John J. Frain, Sr. age 88 of Manasquan, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune.Born in Newark. he was the son of the late Patrick and Katherine Frain. Formerly of Linden, he moved to Pittstown in 1974 where he resided until his recent move to Manasquan.John was a proud graduate of St. Benedicts Prep, in Newark, class of 1938. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific, as a 1st Sergeant with the Field Artillery, 98th Infantry Division. He was honorably discharged Feb. 5, 1946 and went to work for the Post Office. His aspiration for success led him into the construction field, working as a mason and building houses in Union County. He later co-founded Nenna & Frain Inc., a company specializing in underground utility construction. He was an original founding member, as well as treasurer, of the Utility Contractors Association of Eastern PA.John was an integral part of many service and community organizations. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale, where he served on the building committees for the new church and cemetery. He was a founding member of the new church and served on the finance committee. He was a national member of the American Legion. John was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends and never failed to bring a smile to the faces of those he loved. He will be loved, missed and in our hearts forever. John enjoyed the games of golf and baseball and was a loyal Yankee fan.John was pre-deceased by his first wife, Wanda Zaleski in 1974 and by his second wife, Laura Adamczyk Rudinski in 2004. He was also pre-deceased by his brother, Patrick Frain He is survived by his children, Patricia Betts, and her husband, Allan of VA, John Jr. and his wife, Maureen of Wall, Dr. Edward Rudinski, and his wife Michele of FL, his brothers, Bernard and his wife, Mary, of Raritan, Thomas and his wife, Mary, of Shark River Hills, sister-in-law, Evelyn of Westfield and six grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, July 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ. 08801.Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, July 5, 2009 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.Burial will be in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immaculate Conception School Endowment Fund, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ 08801.For more information or to send condolences please visit www.kearnsfuneralhome.com
