Obituary of Esther D. Fielder

Esther "Davey" Fielder, age 86 of Lebanon, NJ, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ.Born in McDonough, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Angeline Davis. Davey was a Yeoman 1st Class in the United States Coast Guard during WWII.After attending business school, she worked many years as a secretary. She had lived in Cranford, Long Beach Island, Stuart, FL, Whiting and Whitehouse before moving to Lebanon 10 years ago. An avid golfer, Davey also enjoyed gardening, bridge and the beach. She was a member of the Whitehouse United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center for 15 years. While living in Florida she volunteered at the Martin County Medical Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Fielder who died in 1987 and a brother and sister. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her son, Jack and his wife, Marilyn Fielder of Califon and her daughter, Barbara and her husband, Robert Anastasio of Lebanon Twp; her grandchildren, Daniel and Tiffany Fielder of Norwalk, CT, Megan Fielder of Wayne, NJ and Kyle Anastasio of Lebanon Twp, as well as her brother, Arthur Davis of Genoa, NY. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 9, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.Following the service burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Carol G.
