Obituary of Daniel Cahill

Daniel James Cahill, age 63, of Hampton, NJ, died Monday, August 10, 2009 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.Born in Jersey City, NJ he was the son of the late Daniel and Alice Cahill.Danny lived in Hunterdon County for most of his life. He was employed by Vollers Excavating and Construction Company in North Branch, NJ as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the past 41 years.Danny was a member of the Local 825 Operating Engineers Union. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a NASCAR enthusiast and an avid sportsman. He loved hunting, fishing, time spent in the woods and time spent with his yellow lab "Buddy". Danny was strong, loving, very devoted and dependable. You could always count on Danny.He was predeceased by his brother, James Cahill.He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, his three sons, Chris Cahill and his wife, Nichole, Marc Cahill and his wife Mimi, Scott Cahill and his wife Jessica and his beloved step-children, Mike Ercolano and his wife, Karen, Tony Ercolano and his wife, Sarah, Lou Ercolano, Neal Ercolano and his wife, Jennie and Maria and her husband, Mark Vesper. He is also survived by his brother, John Cahill, his sister, Linda Scruggs and 15 grandchildren whom he adored.A service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.Burial will be in Norton Cemetery in Hampton, NJ.For more information or to send condolences please visit www.kearnsfuneralhome.com
