Obituary of Franz Gruss

Franz Gruss, age 78 of Asbury, NJ, died Friday, September 4, 2009 at his home.Born in Falkenau, Czechoslovakia on January 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Emil and Rosalia Gruss. He came to the United States in 1958, residing in Detroit before moving to New Jersey. In 1963 Franz permanently settled in Asbury. Franz was a metallurgist who worked for Amax Metals in Carteret, NJ for 28 years, until his retirement in 1987.After his retirement Franz and his wife of 48 years, Gisela became antique dealers.Besides his wife, Gisela, Franz is survived by his two daughters, Karin Gruss of Quakertown and Helga Gruss of Mendham. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Tabitha Amiano and Jesse Todd both of Asbury.
