Victor M. Vergalito, age 73 formerly of Whitehouse Station, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at his home in Englewood, FL.Born in Whitehouse Station, NJ, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Vergalito. He lived all of his life in Whitehouse Station before moving to Englewood in 2003. Vic owned and operated Nick's Barber Shop in Whitehouse Station which was started by his father. He had been our town barber for 45 years. In 2002 he retired and he and his wife, Fay, whom he married in 1960, moved to Englewood. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station and St. Raphael's Church in Englewood. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at both churches. As a young boy, Vic was an altar boy and later served as a lector and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. He was a former member of the Whitehouse Jaycees and the Whitehouse Fire Company. Besides his wife, Fay, he is survived by his children, Victor N. Vergalito and his wife, Sherri of Phillipsburg, NJ; Steven Vergalito and his wife, Martina of Wilkes Barre, PA; Kelly Koppenhoefer and her husband, Peter of Stroudsburg, PA, and Robert Vergalito and his wife, Laura of Whitehouse Station. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law.A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 9:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
