Obituary of Denise H. Berwald

Denise H. Berwald, age 60 of North Branch, NJ, died Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ. Born in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Zaneto. Denise had lived in Bound Brook before moving to North Branch in 1994. Denise volunteered for many years at the Raritan Valley Community College Theater before accepting the role of House Manager which she enjoyed doing for the past 12 years. She was a supporter and member of the Chihuahua Mom Chat and Awesome Amazons organizations. She was also a strong supporter of the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter in Bridgewater. Denise is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years, Craig Berwald, her loving sons, Edward and Karl Erikson, and loving daughters, Kathryn Levanda and Valerie Erikson. She is also survived by her brothers, Ronald and Cory Zaneto and her sisters, Jill Hospodar, Margaret Zaneto and Maureen Carroll and her dear grandchildren, Matthew and Grace Levanda and 4 nieces and 4 nephews. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, December 20, 2009 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A memorial service will be held during the visitation at 5:00 P.M.
