Obituary of Helen B Richards

Helen B Richards, age 81 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at her home. Born in Somerville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Alice Brokaw. Helen lived most of her life in Somerville before moving to Whitehouse Station 15 years ago. Helen was very active in her community. She was a Life Member of the Green Knoll Rescue Squad, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Somerville Vol. Fire Company and was a swimming instructor for the American Red Cross. Helen is survived by her husband, William with whom she shared 62 years of marriage, her son, William B. Richards, Jr. of Somerville and her daughters, Ruth Ann Koenig of Northampton, PA; Janet Moser of Easton, PA and Deborah Stryker of Whitehouse Station. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
