Obituary of Frederick Munsen

Frederick Munsen, age 68 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at home, with his family at his side. Fred was born in Fords, NJ, and lived in Whitehouse Station since 1982. He was a Vietnam Veteran and past Commander of the American Legion Post 284 in Whitehouse. Fred worked as an auto mechanic for several General Motors dealerships before retiring from Royal Cadillac in Florham Park in 2001. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Caroline Mausson and his brother, William Munson. He is survived by his wife, Janice Boice Munsen, son, Frank Boice of Durham, PA, daughter, Julie and her husband, Joe DeShazo of Whitehouse Station and his cherished grandchildren, Haley and Jake Dextraze and Travis, Corey and Luke DeShazo. He is also survived by his brothers, Harold and Robert, sisters, Martha Ritter, Claire Mausson, and Marion Carroll and many other relatives and friends. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A service will be held during the visitation at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822 or American Legion Post 284, Ridge Road, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889.
