Obituary of Phyllis Jean Hofmann

Phyllis Jean Hofmann "Gee Gee", of Lebanon, NJ, died on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, PA. She was 77. Born in Portsmith, OH, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Isabella Thompson. She resided in MD then Howell, NJ and then settled in Lebanon in 1976. She graduated Fairleigh Dickenson University with a BA as an English major. While living in Maryland she owned the Joppatowne Journal, a newspaper in Joppa, MD. For 30 years she worked as a realtor in the Hunterdon County area. "Gee Gee" was also a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Oldwick. Phyllis is survived by 4 sons; Paul Loftus of FL, John Loftus of Monmouth, NJ, Robert Hofmann of Matthews, NC, Ronald Hofmann of Greer, NC and 4 daughters; Paula Kastal of Rockville, MD, Suzanne Kemp of Baltimore, MD, Cynthia Hofmann of Rieglesville, PA, Michelle Hofmann of Lebanon, NJ. She is also survived by 1 sister, Patricia Jean Tupper of Ohio and 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 11 at 5 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church in Oldwick. Friends and relatives may visit with the family at the Kearns Funeral Home 103 Old Highway Whitehouse, NJ 08888 on Friday Aug. 10 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
