Obituary of Roberta (Bobbi) Pocher

Roberta M Pocher (Bobbi), of Brick, NJ, passed peacefully on June 12, 2010 Bobbi was born January 12, 1937 in Newark, NJ. She lived 30 years in Stanton, NJ before retiring to Shore Acres, NJ. Bobbi earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising and worked as an Executive for Bamberger's, which later became known as Macys. On September 12, 1959, Bobbi married the love of her life, Charles R. Pocher and a family soon followed. In August 2009, they celebrated 50 wonderful married years together and treated their family to a cruise to Mexico. Bobbi is survived by her husband Charles, daughters Marybeth MacNaughton and her husband Scott of San Diego, CA; Paula Pocher-Miller and her husband Roger of Stanton NJ, and sons Charles Jr. and his wife Peggy of Huntington Beach, CA and Richard Pocher of Middlesex, NC. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren who she loved so dearly, Chad, Kyle and Zachary Pocher of Huntington Beach, CA, Quintin Pocher of Middlesex, NC and Colin and Cara MacNaughton of San Diego, CA As a woman who practiced her catholic faith daily, Bobbi was an active member of The Visitation Church in Brick, NJ and a former member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Annandale, NJ. Bobbi was involved in many activities including the Alter Rosary Society. She marched weekly to protect the lives of the unborn at the local abortion clinic. Bobbi's biggest passion was the Friendship Club which she formed over 20 years ago at Immaculate Conception Parish. The Friendship Club is a way for the homebound and disabled members of the parish to get together, share a meal, fellowship and participate in activities. The Friendship Club continues to be an important part of Immaculate Conception. Bobbi touched many lives and all who knew her loved her for her elegant manner, generosity, acceptance of all and devotion to her family and the Lord. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Entombment will be in the Immaculate Conception Mausoleum, Annandale, NJ In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to: The Friendship Club, 316 Old Allerton Rd. Annandale, NJ 08801.
