Obituary of Arthur B. Godown

Arthur B. Godown, Jr., age 70 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ. Born in Somerville, NJ, he was the son of the late Arthur B and Juanita M. Godown Sr. Art had lived in Whitehouse Station for the last 42 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran during the Vietnam era serving on the USS Cowell, USS Hazelwood and the USS Keppler during his 10 years of service. He was a Stationary Boiler Engineer at Rutgers University before retiring. He was a member of the Flemington VFW and the Whitehouse American Legion Post 284, Whitehouse. Art was also a Charter member of the Readington Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Antoinette Godown, his children, Reggie Card, Annette Cafro, Patty Becker all of NJ; Edward Godown and Cindy Vasilantone of PA; Bridget Sanipas and Darlene Morgan of ME; Timothy Card of Washington State and Regina Hollman of WI. He is also survived by his sisters, Cheryl Riker of NC and Charlotte Schuyler of NJ; 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to the American Legion Post 284, P.O.
