Obituary of Dr. Thomas Eugene Brady

Dr. Thomas Eugene Brady, a resident of Whitehouse Station for more than thirty years, died at home surrounded by his family on September 1st following a lengthy illness. Born on April 2, 1941 in Elizabeth, NJ he was the son of the late Sarah and Eugene F. Brady. Mr. Brady was educated at St. Catherine's Elementary School in Hillside, St. Benedict's Prep in Newark and St. Vincent's College in Latrobe, PA where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. He received his PH.D. in Organic Chemistry at Fordham University in Bronx, NY in 1967. He worked for American Cyanamid Co. in both Bound Brook, NJ and Princeton, NJ. He retired from J-Star Research, Inc. in South Plainfield in 2004. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Whitehouse Station. Tom is survived by his wife of almost forty years, Jo Anne Wittman Brady, his daughters, Jeanne Brady DeBray of Readington, NJ, Maureen Brady Cunningham of Flemington, NJ and Mary Catherine Brady Manno of Stirling, NJ. He was very proud of his three grandsons, Grant Patrick and Jackson Thomas Cunningham and Brady Alexander Manno. He is also survived by his cousin, Sr. Martin Elizabeth Duffy, OSB. Tom's interests included history, stamp collecting, geography, trains and naval vessels as well as military armament. He loved classical music and enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. He was predeceased by his Aunt, Sr. Clarence Marie, OSB, his uncle, Reverend Thomas G. Grant and cousin, Msgr. Leo J. Mahoney. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse. Viewing hours will be held on Friday, September 3, from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse, NJ.
