Obituary of H. James Haley
H. James Haley, age 92 of North Branch, NJ, died Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in New Vernon, NJ, he was the son of the late Marcellus and Ruth Haley. Jim had lived in High Bridge before moving to North Branch.
He was an Army Veteran and served during World War II.
He was an animal specialist with Merck & Company, Inc. in Branchburg, retiring in 1983.
Jim loved to garden and his family and neighbors agreed that he grew the best tomatoes around.
Jim was predeceased by his wife, Mabel Haley and his two brothers, Kenneth and Wilbur Haley.
He is survived by his son, James Haley of Bridgewater and his daughter, Judith Haley of North Branch. He is also survived by his two sisters, Ruth Miller of NJ and Kay Hall of GA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway, Whitehouse.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the New Vernon Presbyterian Church Cemetery, New Vernon.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
