Obituary of Robert Gerard Palchanes
Robert Gerard Palchanes, Sr., age 82 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Sunday, October 3, 2010 at his home.
Born in Ashley, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anastasia Palchanes. Robert had lived in Bridgewater before moving to Whitehouse Station 15 years ago.
He served during World War II in Merchant Marines and the United States Army during the Korean War.
Robert worked for the United States Postal Service in Union for 25 years, retiring in1983. He was also a retired member of the US Postal Workers Union.
Robert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Edith May Palchanes, his sons; Robert Palchanes Jr. and his wife Maria of Clinton, Daniel Palchanes of Quakertown, PA and Michael Palchanes of Clinton, his daughters; Joan Manning and her husband, Edward of Clinton, Deborah Blake and her husband, Robbie of Avoca, PA, Diane Palchanes of Bedminster and Karen Palchanes of Clinton. He is also survived by his brother, Ernest and his wife, Xaviera of Bridgewater and his sisters, Dolores and her husband, Karl of Linden and Dorothy and her husband, Walter of SC and his 4 precious grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
