Obituary of Howard Smith

Howard Smith, age 77 of Hampton, NJ, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at his son's home in Hampton. He was the son of the late Ross A. and Lena (Fields) Smith. Howard had lived in Lebanon for many years before moving to his son's home. He owned and operated the Round Valley Bait and Tackle Shop in Lebanon for over 25 years. He was a former member of the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Company and the Ford Hunt Club in Cokesbury. Howard loved to hunt and fish and was known by many as a man who loved to joke and stage pranks. Howard was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Ann Smith, his son, Howard Smith Jr., his two daughters, Tammy and Donna and grandson, Michael. He is survived by his son, Ross Smith Sr. and his wife, Colleen and his six grandchildren, Ross Jr., Scott, Travis, Amanda, Erin and Nicholas. There will be no calling hours. A private burial will take place in the Pottersville Reformed Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home, Whitehouse.
