I was in class with Mr.Bush when the announcement came over the speaker that our president John Kennedy had been assinated. Mr. Bush reassured us in those early minutes of the world changes that would be a part of our growing up from that time forward. And Mr. Bush taught me to write, a skill that has helped my every day of my life ever since. He has always been in my heart, and Mrs. Bush you are both in my prayers. Heartfelt condolances and beautiful memories of a devoted student of Mr. Bush, sincerley, Nancy Haines Spears

Donna
Sorry to read about Bob's passing. I worked with him at West for a few years, although he was at East most of the time. I remember he loved his family, the Marines, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. (and kidding around)
May he rest in peace.

I graduated from BRHS in '65 and had Mr. Bush for Civics. Although that was not an area of interest to me before taking Mr. Bush's class, he definitely made the subject interesting and fun. After 30+ years in industry, I started teaching and use things he taught me. What a wonderful man and GREAT teacher. Semper Fi! Dean 'Skeeter' Anson.

Dear Miss Donna,
I am so sorry for your loss. I remember when you would both come over to our house and Mr. Bush would make me laugh with all of his pranks and stories. I recently had a history teacher who reminded me of your husband. In fact I was speaking about Mr. Bush last week telling students how he dressed in character etc. I am sure he will be sorely missed by all of the students lives he touched. I pray that God our father will comfort you at this time, and bless you with fond memories.
God Bless...

I didn't have Mr. Bush for my
teacher, but I will always remember him.
He wrote something in my yearbook, that I today, still believe.
I'm sorry for your loss.
Dennis.

I had Mr. Bush at BRHS East. I enjoyed his class, his sense of humor and his birthday song he played for everyone. He was truly dedicated to his teaching profession.

Mr. Bush was my "spirit" leader as I served as captain of the cheerleaders in 65...our truly "Golden" year.
I have nothing but fond memories of all the great times we had at BRHS...He motivated me to teach for BW for 26 years before retiring and I only hope that maybe I touched some of my students the way Mr. Bush touched all our lives. God Bless.

Mr. Bush was the best geography and history teacher. As I traveled in my later years. I often thought about how much I remembered about his sideways and upside down maps. At our '65 BRHS reunion, we talked about the impact he had on our lives. He was a special person in my life and my prayers are with you, his family. He made a difference -he was "The Power of One".

Mr Bush and his South by North maps can be credited as one of the main reasons that I have a degree in Geography/Cartography and a minor in US History. My condolances to Mrs Bush and the family. Alway know that Mr B left his mark at BRHS.

Mr. and Mrs. Bush were so kind to me when I was at "that awkward age"--adolescence. I had Mr. Bush for English in Jr. High and then again for History in high school. He was an amazing teacher, always challenging us to think harder and better. And he had a great sense of humor. I remember him saying if he ever had a daughter, he'd name her Rose, so she'd be Rose Bush. (of course he wouldn't have) He was a great person, as evidenced by the fact that 50 years later, I'm crying as I type this. Go with God, Mr. B.!

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Robert Bush. I was a student of his in high school. His famous words to us were, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." He is one teacher that I have never forgotten. May he rest in peace. Sincerely, Cindy W. Newsome

Dearest Donna,
My heart is breakng at learning of Bob's passing. I always thought of him as my big brother and he always referred to me as "Lil Sis" and signed cards and letters as "Bro Bob". My dad, "Willie" loved Bob as a son and it is of some comfort to know they are now together again. Please know that love and thoughts are with you.
