Obituary of Mary E. Dermody
Mary E. Dermody, age 85 of High Bridge, NJ, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at her home.
Born in Roselle, NJ, she was the daughter of the late James and Evelyn Dermody. Mary lived most of her life in Roselle before moving to High Bridge in 1984.
She worked for the Exxon Research Corporation in several locations. She retired 20 years ago from the Corporation located in Annandale as the Head Librarian.
Mary was a former communicant and active member of St. Joseph's Church in Roselle. When she moved to High Bridge she joined Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale. She continued her volunteer work at Immaculate Conception. She was a very instrumental part of the success of the CCD program with the church and worked side by side with her friend and "Chief" as she called her, Sister Carlotta LaRocca of The Sisters of Jesus Our Hope.
Mary was predeceased by her two brothers, James and William.
She is survived by her two sisters-in-law, Grace and Clare Dermody and her nephews, William, Michael and James and her niece, Mary Grace. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews,
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, February 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
