Obituary of Sophie Roche

Sophie Roche, age 96 of Whitehouse Station, died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ. Born in NYC, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Krauss. Sophie lived most of her life in Whitehouse Station. She drove a school bus for 20 years in Readington Township, retiring in 1978. She was a former member of the Rockaway Reformed Church in Whitehouse Station and a charter member of the Whitehouse Fire Company No. 1, Ladies Auxiliary. Sophie loved her family very much and was a loving wife, mother and wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Sophie was predeceased by her husband, Vincent (Chick) Roche, Jr. and her son, Edwin Roche and her brother, Henry Krauss. She is survived by her son, Vincent Roche, III and his wife Deanna of Whitehouse Station and her daughter, Jacqueline Brannan and her husband, Bruce of Whitehouse Station and her daughter-in-law, Marian Roche. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a service immediately following at 11:00 at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
