Obituary of Mary Gawales

Mary Gawales, age 95 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater Twp., NJ. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was the daughter of the late George and Susan Handzo. Mary had lived in Toms River for 32 years before moving to Whitehouse Station, 15 years ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Gawales, her son, William and her daughter, Eileen Misko. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Cifelli and her husband, Robert and her son, Robert Gawales of Toms River. Mary is also survived by her sister, Helen Matviyetz of Bricktown and her 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 County Road 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
