Obituary of Roxane Smith
Hampton - Roxane Smith, of Hampton NJ, died, Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center with her family by her side. She was 56 years old.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a husband of 32 years, Dennis, two children: Erik, 27, and Kenneth, 30. She also leaves behind one brother, Benjamin Betti.
Born in 1955 in Scranton, PA, Roxane was the daughter of the late, Kathryn and Benjamin 'Beezer' Betti. As a young child she and her family moved to Manville.
She was artistic by nature and turned her talents to the floral industry. Roxane's passion for flowers lead her through various business ventures in her 30 plus years of experience. She opened her first store in Clinton NJ in the early 90's, named Simply Blooms where she began exhibiting her talents in dried and fresh flowers alike. She was currently one of the co-owners of The Rose and Radish in Whitehouse Station, NJ.
Her beautiful and unique styles lead Roxane to international acclaim. She had demonstrated her talent in various countries such as England, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. She continually worked to improve her craft. She attended training courses in Amsterdam with some of the Global elite. As a testament to her dedication, she never shied away from an "all nighter", partly in hopes that her sacrifice would make the end result that much better.
Roxane loved good food and socializing, and often would light up a room with her commanding personality. She often talked about fulfilling one of her many dreams, designing beautiful flowers for one of her sons weddings. Erik is to be married in October.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, from noon to 3:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
