Obituary of Wayne Wasiler
Wayne N. Wasiler, age 71, died suddenly at home in Basking Ridge on April 3, 2011.
He was the son of the late Nicholas Wasiler and Florence Heller Wasiler.
A 1958 graduate of Bernards High School, Mr. Wasiler was the proprietor of Wayne's Landscaping Service, an enterprise he established upon his discharge from military service. Combat Engineer Wasiler received an Honorable Discharge for his service in the United States Army. He was a member of Peapack Gladstone American Legion Post #216 and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Bernardsville. A noted railroad enthusiast, model train collector and authority, he was a member of The National Railway Historical Society and National Association of Railway Passengers. Wayne was a Director of Jersey Central Railway Historical Society, an organization he had served as President. He enthusiastically produced and directed the annual Christmas Train sponsored by the Jersey Central Railway Historical Society.
Wayne was a charter member of the Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, his family being founding members of that Parish in 1958.
A memorial service will be held in his honor and in celebration of his life at the Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, 475 Lake Road, Basking Ridge, New Jersey, at 10:00 a.m. on May 7, 2011, followed by a reception and fellowship for his numerous friends and fellow parishioners.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home of Whitehouse, New Jersey.
