Obituary of Peter J. Kelly

Peter J. Kelly, 69, of Lavallette died on July 8, 2011 under the care of his loving family and Meridian Hospice at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Born in Plainfield, he lived in Branchburg before moving to Lavallette in 1998. Mr. Kelly was the proud owner of K & L Auto Body (which he began in 1963) located in Somerville. He served for several years on the advisory board for the auto body program at Somerset County Vo-Tech. Mr. Kelly enjoyed the last 10 years at his home at Big Moose Lake, NY. Predeceased by his parents John and Pauline (Johnson) Kelly, and by his twin sister Polly Lepori, Mr. Kelly leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara (DuMont) Kelly, and four sons John F. Kelly and Kathie Petruska of Branchburg, NJ, Peter Shawn Kelly and wife Angela (Brown) Kelly of Bridgewater, NJ, Mark A. Kelly and wife Marilyn (Dantona) Kelly of Toms River, NJ, and Paul V. Kelly and his wife Robin (Baginski) Kelly of Toms River, NJ. Also surviving are his seven beloved grandchildren, Sarah, Shane, Jack, Amber, Lucas, Alivia, and Alena, his sister Jackie Bradley and her husband Bob, and Mr. Kelly's "favorite" mother-in-law Peggy, and his father-in-law Fred Meyer, as well as several nieces and nephews. Private cremation was held and the family will receive friends on Friday, July 15 from 5 to 9pm at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Rt. 28, Whitehouse, NJ.
