Obituary of Elwood Robinson
Elwood A. (Sam) Robinson, age 87, of Whitehouse Station, NJ died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at his home.
Born in Whitehouse Station, NJ, he was the son of the late Henry and Frances Robinson.
Sam was drafted into the United States Army his junior year of high school. He was a PFC with the 29th Infantry Division and received the Purple Heart and 3 Bronze Service Stars.
He worked for RCA in Somerville for 25 years before retiring in 1987.
Sam loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter early on in his life. He will be missed by his neighbors and passing motorists whom he would wave to as he sat in his front yard. He had a great sense of humor, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, M. Eileen Robinson, his two daughters, Phyllis Robinson of Whitehouse Station and Nancy Hager of Harlingen, TX; his two stepsons, Robert Jacqmein and his wife, Vicki of Miami, FL, and William Jacqmein and his wife, Nancy of Argyle, TX. He is also survived by his sister, Milda Dumont of Tampa, FL, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Private services have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home, Whitehouse.
