Obituary of Olga Terry

Mary "Olga" (McCarthy) Terry, age 94 of Basking Ridge, NJ, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Holly Manor Center in Mendham, NJ. Olga was a native of Pottsville PA She was a Penn State grad and post-grad at Columbia in New York City in Library Science. Olga worked in the business library of the New York Federal Reserve before marriage to the late Jean-Louis Terry. She lived in Bernards Twp. for 62 years during which time she served on the Bernards Twp. Library Board and volunteered for the Morris County ARC. She was an active communicant of Saint James Church in Basking Ridge where she was a member and past president of the Rosary Altar Society as well as the St. Joachim and Anne Society. Olga enjoyed reading, water color and her many friends. Besides her husband, Olga was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ellen Terry. She is survived by her daughter, Marthe Louise Terry and her cousins, Marlin Hoff, Olga Dodson, Marjorie Vail and their families along with her stepdaughter, Diana Jones and her husband, Larry, their 3 children, Peter Jones, Diana Williams and Sally Rozengarten and their families. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the narthex of St. James Church, followed by a funeral liturgy at 11:00 in the chapel. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. A repast will follow in the Chapel auditorium. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Church of St. James, Bethel Ridge or the VNS of Somerset Hills.
