Marie Bernadette Bruder, Boonton Resident, formerly of Harrison, Summit, and Spring Lake, died peacefully Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Overlook Hospital. She was 62. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 10:45 AM at St. Teresa of Avila's Church, 306 Morris Avenue, Summit New Jersey, 07901. Burial will immediately follow at St. Teresa's Parish Cemetery where Marie will be laid to rest beside her beloved parents, The Honorable Michael Joseph and Edna Bruder, and her beloved Aunt Margaret Sullivan. She is survived by her 9 Siblings, Michael Jr. of Montclair, James Brendan and his wife Allyn of Hoboken, Clare Mullarney and her husband Michael of New York, Thomas and his wife Mona of Odessa, Florida, Margaret of Montclair, Sarah Meehan of West Chester, Pa., Edna McGrath and her husband Greg of Convent Station, Carmel Schmidt and her husband Jeffrey of Brielle, and Paul of Spring Lake. She also leaves 12 nieces and nephews, Lauren, Timothy, Patrick, Joseph and John Paul Meehan, Catherine and Elizabeth Mullarney, Matthew and Caitlin Schmidt, Peter McGrath, Caroline and Audrey Bruder. A graduate of Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child, Marie went on to earn her College Degree in Early Childhood Development from Saint Elizabeth's College in Convent Station. She loved life and laughed often. Marie suffered from a very debilitating illness most of her adult life but it never got in the way of showering others with her positive non-defeatist attitude. Marie was all about family and was like a Fairy Godmother to all her nieces and nephews. As her mother Edna often said, "She would always arrive having to ring the bell with her elbows" because of the many gifts for the children carried in her arms. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Non Profit Organization, Community Hope, 199 Pomeroy Road, Parsippany, New Jersey 07054.
