Obituary of Mildred M. Tilton
Mildred M. Tilton, age 92, died, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. She lived in Hatboro, Pa for over fifty years.
Mildred was born in Philadelphia on February 23, 1919 and was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Estelle (Weiss) Mayer.
She graduated from Germantown High School, Philadelphia in the class of 1936. She married Thomas L. Tilton in December of 1941. While residing in Hatboro she was quite active in both school and historical activities in the area. She served ten years as a School Director, as well as serving on the School Authority Board and as President of the PTA. She was also very interested in local history, serving as President of The Hatborough-Horsham Historical Society, and was a member of the Hatboro Historical Commission, and had a special interest in the local history surrounding the Battle of Crooked Billet during the Revolutionary War and the Keith House at Graeme Park.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Tilton and daughter, Merrili M. Tilton both of White Plains NY; sons, Thomas L. Tilton, Jr. of Clinton Township, NJ, Eric M. Tilton (Elfi) of Yorktown, VA, Christopher M. Tilton (Nancy) of Melbourne, FL and granddaughter, Meghan S. Tilton of Doylestown.
