Obituary of John Borys

John Borys, age 88, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ. Born at home in Whitehouse Station, John was the only son of the late Joseph and Mary Borys' eight children. John graduated from Flemington High School before entering the Army and serving his country during World War II. He worked for Diehls Manufacturing in Manville for 21 years and retired from Taylor Forge Stainless in North Branch in 1981. John had a true passion and talent for antiquing. He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club, Whitehouse Station and the American Legion Post 284, Whitehouse. John was predeceased by his sisters, Julie, Jean, Viola and Josephine. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet Borys, his son, Stephen Borys and his wife, Patricia of Phillipsburg, NJ and his daughter, Monica Kanopka and her husband, Leon of Stafford Twp., NJ. He is also survived by his 3 sisters; Lillian Minch of TN and Helen Kain and Sophie Puzio both of NJ; his 2 grandchildren, John Kanopka and his wife, Tina and Leon Kanopka and his wife, Sue and 5 great grandchildren, Anastasia, Adrian, Liam, Leo and Colby. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A funeral service will be held at 8:30PM. Cremation will be private.
