Obituary of Philomena C. Silvestri
Philomena C. Silvestri, age 91, of Flemington, NJ, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Pescolanciano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Carmela DiPaolo.
Philomena came to the United States settling in Bound Brook when she was 13 years old. She had lived in Dunellen and Whitehouse before moving to Flemington.
She was a production line supervisor at White-Westinghouse in Edison for over 25 years before retiring.
She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. She was a member of the Readington Seniors and the Lourdes Seniors.
Philomena was predeceased by her husband, Vincent (Jimmy) Silvestri who died in 2004.
She is survived by her two daughters; Lillian Ciatto and her husband, Salvatore of Fanwood, NJ and Josephine Glynn and her husband, Thomas; her sister, Esterina DiSanto of Canada. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Salvatore Ciatto and his wife, Lori Ann, Lisa Ciatto, Timothy Glynn, James Glynn and Thomas Glynn and her two great grandchildren, Victoria and Vincent Ciatto.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Entombment will be in Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Kidney Association.
