Obituary of Charles J Watson
Charles J. Watson, age 87, of Hillsborough, NJ, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at the Foothill Acres Nursing Center in Hillsborough Twp., NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Olive Watson, III. He lived in Plainfield and Whitehouse and then spent many years in Virginia before moving back to New Jersey.
He served during World War II in the Navy and received the Pacific Theater Ribbon (7 Stars) the American Theater Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon (2 Bronze Stars).
Charles was a photo engraver, working for Art Color in Dunellen and retiring from West Vaco Printing Company in Richmond Virginia.
He was an avid motorcyclist and belonged to many clubs. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and trips to Canada.
Charles was predeceased by his wife, Anna and his son, William Eyre Watson.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Louise Ann Bernelle and her husband, Robert of Piscataway, NJ; Edythe Ann Brandt and her husband, Richard of Lebanon, NJ; and Carole Ann Slone and her husband, Ed of Ashland, VA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home, Whitehouse.
