Obituary of Joan B. Firing

Joan Firing of Neshanic Station entered into eternal rest on July 9, 2012, at home with her beloved family by her side. Joan was predeceased in 1999 by her husband of 55 years, Bjorn "John" Firing. Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 1924, her family relocated to Staten Island, NY. She raised her family in Green Brook, NJ, before moving to Neshanic Station in 1979. A remarkable woman with an incredible spirit, she was an awesome grandmother who lived a purposeful and productive 87 years. Her generous and selfless nature will be greatly missed by family and friends. Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Firing and Karen Firing and Karen's husband Walter Stepanchuk; her son John Firing and his wife Beth, and two grandchildren, Matthew and Katelyn; and her sister, Lorraine Searl and her family. Funeral arrangements will be private and have been entrusted to the Kearns Funeral Home in Whitehouse, NJ.
