Obituary of Norbert Pajunas
Norbert Pajunas, Sr., age 81, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Shenandoah, PA, he was the son of the late John and Katherine Pajunas.
Norbert had lived in Scotch Plains before settling in Whitehouse Station 44 years ago.
He was proud of his service in the United States Navy, both in active duty and the reserves.
He was a self-employed Equine Chiropodist a career he loved, caring for one of his life’s passions, horses.
He was president for several years of the NJ Chapter of the American Farrier Association and was a member of the Horse Race Trotters & Pacers. He raced at Freehold Raceway, Dover Downs Racetrack and the Meadowlands when it first opened. Norbert was a country western musician playing both guitar and bass. A notable member of his band, The Sagemen for a time was singer Eddie Rabbit. Norb was a cowboy and enjoyed competing in rodeos. Norbert will be remembered as a wonderful husband, caring father and a devoted son to his late mother.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Janina; his four sons, Norbert Jr. and his wife, Dona of Nevada, Guy Vincent and his wife, Lizbeth Koch of Califon, Michael and his wife, Susan of Hampton, and James at home; his daughter, Therese White and her husband, Mark of Bluffton, SC; his seven grandchildren, Dana, Dillon, Mason, Clayton, Branden, Addison and Logan and one great grandchild, Anthony. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station.
Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Annandale, NJ
