Obituary of Vera Sterk

Vera Sterk, age 86 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her home. Born in Carteret, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Ana Sirola. Vera grew up in Manhattan and had lived in Whitestone and Syosset, NY before moving to Whitehouse Station 40 years ago. She was a school teacher for the Half Hollow Hills School District. After her retirement she became a realtor for several Real Estate Agencies in the Hunterdon County Area. Vera is survived by her three children, Stewart, Susan, and Andrea, and by their respective spouses, Carol Sterk, Thomas Kirch, and Howard Louthan. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, Lauren and Diana Sterk, Natalie and Regina Kirch, and Anton, Timothy, and Peter Louthan and by her brother, Joseph Sirola. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Hwy., 28, Whitehouse. Burial will immediately follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens, NY.
