Obituary of Michael Fortino

Michael Fortino Jr, 84 of Annandale died Thursday, January 19, 2017. Born in Newark, he resided in Belleville for 53 years, then moved to Ocean County. He was a long time Fireman and Captain for the Belleville, NJ Fire Department. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Eleanor S. Fortino. Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law, Michael III & Diane of Annandale, Raymond & Ginger of Laguna Niguel, Ca, and Mark & Elana of Cramerton, NC, 2 sisters, Josephine Baber and Lorraine Lidlow, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation is Tuesday, January 24th, 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. Funeral Liturgy will be Wednesday, January 25th,10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Annandale, NJ with interment to follow at Brigadier Gen Wm C Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Park, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Belleville Fire Department High School Scholarship Fund. A special scholarship will be presented in Michael’s name this spring. The scholarship is awarded to a Belleville Senior High School student planning on attending college in the upcoming fall semester.
