Obituary of Christopher Schaefer

Christopher Schaefer, age 89 of Flemington, NJ, died peacefully at home on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Born in Piscataway Twp., he was the son of the late George and Barbara Schaefer. Christopher resided in Readington Township his whole life. Having grown up on a farm, farming was a way of life and a passion for Christopher. In 1949 after marrying his beloved late wife, Catherine, they purchased their own farm in Readington Township. Schaefer farms has been a family run business and a part of the community ever since. Christopher was a great man from a line of truly great men and he will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. Along with his wife, Catherine, he was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter, Katherine. He is survived by his two sons, Christopher Schaefer, Jr. and his wife, Kristy of Readington Township and William G. Schaefer also of Readington Township; his 7 grandchildren, Jessica, April, Andrew, Rebecca, Timothy, Morgan and Christopher III as well as 5 great grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888 Burial will be in St. Magdalene’s Cemetery in Flemington.
