Obituary of Robert P. DeDecker

Robert P. DeDecker, age 87 of Branchburg, NJ, died Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Hillsborough, NJ.

Born in Readington Twp., NJ, he was the son of the late Peter F. and Josephine DeDecker.  

Bob grew up in Whitehouse Station and had lived in Branchburg for the last 61 years.

He served his Country in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

Bob worked for Bell Telephone in Somerville for 30 years before retiring in 1987.

He had belonged to the Country Hills Fire Company in Bridgewater.  He was a real outdoorsman.  He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing and was a very talented wood carver.  Bob also enjoyed cooking.

He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Russo.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joan, his daughter, Cathy and her husband, Robert of Branchburg his son, Thomas and his wife, Deborah of Flemington, and his daughter, Sandra DeDecker of Bridgewater. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Michael, David, Scott and Eric and his two great grandchildren, Ariana and Luke.
 
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at Three Bridges Reformed Church, 470 Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.

Burial will be in Readington Reformed Church Cemetery, Readington.
