Obituary of John & Marie Kasper

John & Marie Kasper of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died on July 1, 2017 and July 15, 2017 respectively.

John was born on Nov. 20, 1931, in Mahanoy City, Pa., to the late John and Elizabeth Sharaka Kasper. John served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was a teacher for the Bridgewater-Raritan school district for over 25 years, retiring in 1992. After retiring, he volunteered for the Flemington Area Food Pantry. He was a devout Catholic, loving father, and grandfather, who had a passion for gardening, music, and helping others.

Marie  the "Wendy's Lady" was born on Aug. 26, 1932, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., to the late George Sabol and Anna Vak Sabol. She grew up in Mahanoy City, PA, where she lived for many years before moving to Whitehouse Station to start and raise a family. Marie worked at numerous local businesses, including The Cake Box in Whitehouse Station. She also worked at Wendy's in Flemington, N.J., for 25 years before retiring a few years ago. She will be lovingly remembered as the "Wendy's Lady," always giving love and a smile to her customers year after year! Marie was a devout Catholic, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

They are survived by their sons, John, Joseph, and Matthew, of Whitehouse Station, N.J., and their daughter, Mia of Lebanon, N.J. They are also survived by their eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  John is also survived by his two sisters, Arlene Blew of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Evelyn Yost of New Boston, Pa., and one brother, Francis of Middletown, Pa.   In lieu of flowers, please send donations in John’s memory to the Flemington Area Food Pantry, 154 Route 31, Flemington, N.J. 08822 or to Marie’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Please use Marie’s Memorial ID Number, 11033157.

A gathering for relatives and close friends will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the American Legion.
