Obituary of Anne Sullivan
Anne Sullivan (nee) Karlinchak died peacefully after a long illness at The Village of Rockville on November 14, 2017 at the age of 96. Anne will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Maureen Kimber (son-in-law, Richard), her son, William (daughter-in-law, Eileen), and her youngest son, Paul. She is preceded in death by her husband, William, son, Stephen of London, England and grandson, Matthew Kimber.
Anne was born in 1920, one of 13 brothers and sisters, in rural Moran, Pa. to Stephen and Xenia Karlinchak. She moved to New York at age 20 with two of her sisters and there met her Irish husband, William. They later moved to East Orange, NJ where they raised their four children. Anne was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Our Lady Help of Christians Church and the PTA’s of her children’s schools. Upon her husband’s death in 1985, Anne relocated to Whitehouse Station, N J. where she was an active and dedicated member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Ill health in the last 8 years led her to Gaithersburg, Md. where she lived with Maureen and Richard.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews (nearly 50). They will always remember Anne as a loving and spiritual woman, dedicated to her family and her church, delighted by flowers and music, proud of her Ukrainian ancestry and generous in her hospitality.
A viewing is scheduled on Thursday, November 16th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.at Kearns Funeral Home at 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, N.J. 08888. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes, 390 County Rd 523, Whitehouse Station, NJ. All are welcome to attend and to celebrate Anne’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
