Obituary of Barbara Ann Charous

Barbara Ann Charous, age 77 of Belvidere, NJ, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born in Frenchtown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Bohren) Charous.

Barbara had lived in Flemington for 72 years before moving to Belvidere five years ago.

She was a member of the Hunterdon Central Class of 1958.  She attended Elizabeth General School of Nursing and received her RN certificate from Somerset County Community College.

She was proud of her career and had worked at the Hunterdon Medical Center for 46 years.  After her retirement she enjoyed working and interacting with people at the front desk of the Deer Path YMCA.

Barbara took great pleasure in monthly reunion lunches with her fellow Hunterdon Central alumni.  She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the United Methodist Church in Flemington.  She enjoyed helping seniors in her community in Belvidere and was known for her generous spirit.  Barbara loved the time she spent with her family and grandkids and she will be tremendously missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Timothy and his wife, Pamela of Bethlehem Twp. and Jeffrey and his wife, Valerie of Harmony, NJ; her sister, Betty Stiles of Flemington; her six cherished grandchildren, Audrey, Jackson, Jessica and Tyler Charous and Gina and Vincent Marelli; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 10:00 AM till noon.

Burial will be in Newell Cemetery in Stanton.
