Obituary of Robert J. Motz
Robert J. Motz, age 54 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died suddenly in his home on Sunday, December 10, 2017.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late John and Ella (Gallagher) Motz. He grew up in Abington, PA and lived in Whitehouse Station for the last 26 years.
Bob was currently a teacher at the Whiton Elementary School in Branchburg. Previously he was an Athletic Trainer in the Irvington and Spotswood School Systems. He was a current board member for the Hunterdon Bears Hockey Club where he also coached and focused on speed and agility training. He coached numerous years for the Readington Recreation Baseball and Flag Football teams. Bob was also a 25 year member of the Whitehouse Fire Company and was currently serving as Vice President.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Bill Motz, Joan Motz, Dorothy Motz, and Abigail Michaliszyn and his nephew, Jason Motz.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jan of 26 years and his 3 amazing children, Sydney, Shannon and Noah. He is also survived by his 3 sisters, Dianne Motz-Barnes, Sister Elizabeth Motz, Muriel Clark and her husband, Dennis, sister in law, Margaret Motz, brother in law, Alex Michaliszyn and his wife, Cathy and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Cremation will be private.
