Dear Lorraine and Susie;
I just learned of Thor's passing. Thor gave me my first airplane ride when I was about 12 years old. 5 years later he gave me my first job. As a high school kid I thought that I had the coolest job in the world. I got to cut grass and gas up airplanes at Solberg Airport! This was in the early 1970s.
Thor was always kind and fair to me. He was also patient whenever I would make a mistake such as getting a tractor stuck in the mud.
I have been a pastor in Columbus, New Jersey for the past 38 years. I never will forget the wonderful opportunity I had to work for the Solbergs! May God always bless your family.
Warmly, John D. Grove

My heart goes out to the Solberg family. I had the privilege to spend a good amount of time with Thor in the mid sixties, he was a brilliant person and had many talents, he was a great carpenter, as a young teen i helped him crate disassembled Cessna's for shipment to Norway he built the crates personally. He let me fly with him to Forrestal Airport at Princeton and sit in on class's he was taking. I could go on, the spot landings in the Aeronca with the prop stopped and rolling up to the pumps with a huge laugh, he will be missed.....God Speed I will never forget.

No words can express the shock I felt at the loss of Thor. I have known both he and
his wife for so many years. He had a beautiful family and this rocked me to the
core.
The world will be a different place with out him. The airport will go on and his memory
will last forever.
Rest in peace, Thor. God Bless You. Pat Rigby
