Please accept my deepest condolences. The following words have helped many to cope with the loss of someone special. 1 Corinthians 1:3, 4 states "Praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials..."
Our Father, Jehovah God, will help your family and friends in such difficult times. In 1 Corinthians 15:26 he promises us that "the last enemy, death, will be brought to nothing." I hope the family and friends can find some measure of comfort in this promise.

Bill “Papa”, was another grandfather to me, treating me as an extension of his family, and through sharing his love for history and aviation he was able to give me some of my favorite childhood memories. From the start McKinley and I were obsessed with WW2, so in a way Bill was our mentor and we were his apprentices. He taught us all there was to know about WW2 uniforms, authenticating a Manoil toy soldier, and so much more. As our passion grew, the space in our closet shrank. In 2007 Papa started an annual tradition, our WW2 Weekend trip to Redding Pennsylvania. For McKinley and I, this event was equivalent to winning a golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s Wonderland. Our first year, Papa decked us out in his New Jersey Festival of Ballooning shirts, hats, and pins. As we hit the hanger, Papa worked his magic, and got us past all the security tape and convinced the plane owners to let us take a seat in the cockpit for a picture. We would then go back to his house and spend countless hours running around in his barn playing pinball, while the jukebox played, or go for a ride to get ice cream in the Woody. As each trip came to a close, Papa would pack every airplane piston and propeller he could fit in our car, no matter how annoyed our Moms would get. Like a fine wine, McKinley and I grew to enjoy the smell of moth balls! He gave us a tradition that will never die, and someday I hope to share with my kids and their friends. Most importantly, Bill “Papa” shared a life lesson with me which I will never forget; if you follow your passion you will be happy, and success will simply be a side effect. Papa I cherish every conversation we had, and I would like to say thank you for being a great role model, for all the memories, and sharing your passion with me. You will be missed.
Love, Luca Crudo

Ted and I talked about the "good old days", being with Carol and Bill at the shore, taking a cruise on a war ship out of Baltimore and crazy teen age things. Such as having a friend, Pat Pehlivanian, knit warmers for the pigeons in the Morristown park! We send our love and sorrow to you, the family, whom we think of as our extended family. Bill will be turning heaven on its ears with sounds of laughter and jokes. We miss you, Bill. Godspeed, love from Ted and Nancy

Sorry to lose such a good friend. Jane and I spent many days with you and Carol and have such great memories of our time together. One vacation that stands out was trying to find allied airfields in England and France. The two of us with map's in hand trespassing across farm land to find airfields not seen for 50 years. What a great trip. Rest in peace pal you are missed already.
