Obituary of John Baran

John Baran, age 84 of Readington Twp. NJ, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville, NJ.

Born in Czechoslovakia he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Baran.

John had been a resident of Readington Twp. for the past 34 years.

He was proud to have honorably served his country in the United States Army.

He worked for the Lyons Campus of the VA New Jersey Health Care System in Lyons, NJ for 38 years before he retired.

John was a daily communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6930.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Mellie; his stepson, Adrian Johnston and his step-granddaughter, Heather Johnston of Readington Twp.; and by his two sisters, Irene Dugan and Bernie Resperski both of Wilkes-Barre, PA.  John is also survived by two step-great granddaughters, Madelyn & Alyssa Judy.

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.

A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, February 1 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889.

Burial will be in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
