Obituary of Kenneth E. Wilshaw
Kenneth E. Wilshaw, age 84 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Summit, NJ, raised in Union, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Esther Wilshaw. Ken lived in Westfield for 28 years before moving to Whitehouse Station 16 years ago.
After working a number of years at Esso, Ken worked for 25 years at Stillman and Hoag Inc. in Englewood, NJ before retiring as Vice President. He then started his own insurance business, KEW Enterprises.
He was a man of deep faith who participated in an ongoing faith sharing prayer group, was a member of the 3rd order of Franciscans (OFS), a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and the Knights of Columbus Council 6930.
Ken was an avid fisherman, an enthusiastic poker player, and he greatly enjoyed international travel.
Ken was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years Anne Wilshaw, who died in 2007, his sister, Lois Lewis and his granddaughter, Amanda.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Kenneth C. and his wife, Jennifer of West Milford, NJ; Robert K. and his wife, Susan of Rochester Hills, MI; his 3 daughters, Jean A. Wright and her husband Chris of West Chester, PA; Mary L. Baker and her husband, Bill of Somerville, NJ; and Susan E. Wilshaw of Whitehouse Station. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station.
Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Annandale.
