William Haller

Obituary of William C Haller

William C Haller, age 83 of Easton, PA., died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Abington Manor in Easton.

Born and raised in Union, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Gertrude Haller.  Bill attended catholic schools and graduated from Seton Hall Preparatory in East Orange.  He then went on to Rutgers University to study Animal Husbandry with the intention of joining his father’s cattle dealer business. He instead discovered he had a passion for machines and working with his hands.  In 1980 he opened up his own machine shop, “Haller Machine” in Middlesex, NJ which made products for cars; wire, cable and metal parts.  He made great friends with his customers and had the shop until his retirement.   Bill never forgot his great love for animals. For most of his adult life he lived in Hunterdon County where he had his own mini farm with all kinds of animals.  He had dogs, cats, chickens (sold eggs), calves, donkey, pony, horse and goats.

Bill moved to a townhome in Easton 13 years ago.  The move afforded him the pleasure of spending his winters in Naples, FL.  He and his wife began to travel and were fortunate to have visited such places as Burma, Thailand, China, Australia, New Zealand and almost all of Europe.  Bill was an avid antiques dealer and collector.  He loved deep sea and tuna fishing, deer hunting, bow and arrow and shotgun.  Bill had a rich and full life but the part he cherished most was his family.  He will be truly missed by all his dear family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat, his two sons, Bill of Martinsville and Michael and his wife Patti of Plano, TX, his sister, Barbara Core of Flemington and his grandchildren, Robert, Alicia, Michael and Amanda.  He is also survived by his niece, Kelly as well as numerous other nephews, nieces and cousins.
