Obituary of Harvey Anweiler
Harvey Roy Anweiler, 94, at rest August 21, 2018 at Holly Manor Nursing Home in Mendham, NJ.
Harvey was born on March 3, 1924 in Ottawa, IL to John and Marie (Cray) Anweiler. He was in the US Army, stationed around the world, from 1942 through 1950 and is a WWII Veteran.
He married the late Antoinette C. Anweiler of Newark, NJ on December 23, 1951. They moved to East Orange, then Milburn, then to Livingston where they raised their children. They finally retired to Flemington where Harvey remained until his death.
Harvey exemplified the hardworking, patriotic, and resourceful values driven characteristics of the greatest generation. He worked hard his entire life to provide for his family. He loved to cook and was known for making the best breakfasts. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and precious great grandchild.
Harvey was predeceased by his sisters, Esther Gunderson, Dorothy Albin, Betty Fancher and Shirley Hartshorn and by his brothers Clarence and Joe Anweiler.
He is survived by his two children, Lynn Lavanga and her husband Vincent, and Craig Anweiler and his wife Diana, all from NJ; his three grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer Lavanga and her husband William Reiter, Nick and Joseph Anweiler, and a great grandchild, Benjamin Reiter. He is also survived by two brothers, Bob and Elmer Anweiler and one sister, Helen Sampson.
