Obituary of Gary Louise Contos

Gary Louise Contos, age 72 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ.

Born in Portland, OR, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Jeanne Collins.

Gary lived in Queens, NY before moving to Readington Township 41 years ago.

Gary and her late husband, Constantinos owned and operated World Wide Metric Incorporated for many years.   They loved to travel the world, especially Greece.

She was a member of St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church in Flemington.  Gary was a Master Gardener and loved to flower show each spring at nurseries near and far. She enjoyed bird watching, especially her hummingbirds.   She was a history buff and voracious reader.   She also had an opinion or two on a great many topics.    She was a fantastic cook and always loved whipping up big, beautiful Sunday dinners for the family. Her specialties included Spanakopita and her famous Yia Yia salad.  She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and family.  

She was a wonderful, loving and kind person who was like a bubbly bottle of champagne; her glass filled with happiness and she could always make you smile.   She will be greatly missed.

Gary is survived by her three children, sons, George and his wife, Jessica of Clinton, Theo and his wife, Lada of Flemington, and her daughter, Anthee Contos of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  She is also survived by her brother, Craig Collins of Portland, OR and sister, Kym Mellinger of Everett, WA and her four grandchildren, Alessandra, Rylan, Eliana, and Natalia Contos.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08889.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at noon at St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 85 Voorhees Corner Road, Flemington, NJ 08822.

Burial will follow at the Readington Reformed Church Cemetery, Readington.
