Obituary of William H Bolger Jr.

 William H. Bolger, Jr, age 79 of Whitehouse Station, NJ, died Wednesday, November 14, 2018 on route to the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.

Born and raised in Jersey City, he was the son of the late William H. and Emily Bolger, Sr.

Bill, and his loving wife, Elaine, lived in Bayonne for over 35 years before retiring to Whitehouse Station, 20 years ago.

Bill was a Lincoln Technical School graduate.  He became a master mechanic of transport refrigeration working for Sealand in Port Elizabeth for 35 years, before retiring.  He was a member of the International Longshoremen’s Association.

He was dubbed “Bayonne Bill” by his “rat pack” of best friends. Together, they mentored many people onto a better pathway of life.  “BB” was instrumental in starting the Matt Talbot Retreat Group # 69.   He was a long time volunteer at the Flemington Food Pantry.  He had a kind heart, would give you the shirt off of his back kind of guy, and went out of his way to help others.  He loved fishing in deep waters or off the shoreline and enjoyed working on 3D puzzles.

Bill was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Jack Bolger and his sisters, Patricia DiNicola and Dorothy Tecchio.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine, his daughter, Diane and his son, Bill.   He is also survived by his loving brother, Irving and sister-in-law’s, Helena and Ann.  His grandchildren are Ann Marie (Bernhardt) and Bill and his great-grandsons, are Lewis and Danny (Bernhardt).  Bill had many loving nieces and nephews, too.

Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 18, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.

A funeral mass will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station, NJ.
